Our next meeting is scheduled as follows:
Monday, October 15 (3rd Monday instead of 2nd due to Columbus Day & library closure)
1214 Volvo Parkway, Chesapeake, VA 23322
Bring your best opening page along with 12 copies to share with the group since we will do a first page swap/critique in October.
This can be a story you are currently working on, the first page of your story for the chapter anthology, or something you’ve been thinking of writing and will start now!
Either way, polish up that first page to bring in for a critique!
On Monday, September 10, 2018, at 6 p.m., we’ll meet at the Greenbrier Library, 1214 Volvo Parkway, Chesapeake, VA 23320.
Michael Rigg will discuss his time at the Writer’s Police Academy.
We will also have a writing exercise, so bring a pen, paper, and ideas!
See you Monday!
Our next meeting will be at the Greenbrier Library on Volvo Parkway in Chesapeake on Monday, April 9, at 6 p.m.
Yvonne Saxon will discuss “Writing Prompts with a Focus on Conflict,” and what’s the worst thing that could happen in your story. This will be an interactive discussion with writing work at the same time–so get ready to talk and write about conflict. Hope to see you there!
Our next meeting will be at the Greenbrier Library on Volvo Parkway in Chesapeake on Monday, March 12, at 6 p.m.
Please plan to attend this Publishing Panel to hear Sally Parrott’s talk on Self-Publishing, Ken Wingate and Judy Morgan’s discussion of ZINE – DIY Publishing, and Teresa Inge’s talk on Traditional Publishing.
See you then!
Our next meeting will be at the Greenbrier Library on Volvo Parkway in Chesapeake on Monday, February 12, at 6 p.m.
We will present “To Tell a Lie,” with moderator Cindy Lane and panelists Allie Marie, Sally Parrott, & Teresa Inge.
This will be a fun, interactive panel based on the legendary show “To Tell the Truth.”
Happy New Year!
Let’s start the New Year Writing! Bring stylus, quill, pen, or keyboard, because you’re invited to the first Mystery by the Sea meeting in 2018. We’ll share writing prompts, discuss the 7 basic plots, add a little sentence structure, and mix in some mystery fun! Also, if you’re interested in an in-house writing contest, this is the place to be.
Oh, forget that diet resolution for one night; there will be cookies!
See YOU there!
