Our March meeting will take place Monday, March 11, 2019, at 6 p.m. at the Greenbrier Library (1214 Volvo Parkway, Chesapeake, VA 23320).  Topics for the evening include:

Writing sprints with prompts
Grammar pet peeves
Sentence rearranging to reflect Murder & Mayhem

Our next meeting will take place at Hampton Public Library on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 6–8 pm. 

The Main Library is located at 4207 Victoria Blvd., Hampton, VA 23669.  Our meeting will take place in Meeting Room B in the lobby.

Hosted by Adele Gardner (, tonight’s workshop offers writing exercises that draw on the different flavors of mystery to jumpstart inspiration.   We’ll share information about mystery classes, educational grants, upcoming mystery contests and writing opportunities, and more.

This event supports the library’s programming for National Novel Writing Month.  Please join us!  As always, the group’s monthly meeting is free to attend.

Bring your best opening page along with 12 copies to share with the group since we will do a first page swap/critique in October.

This can be a story you are currently working on, the first page of your story for the chapter anthology, or something you’ve been thinking of writing and will start now!

Either way, polish up that first page to bring in for a critique!
