February Meeting to Focus on Building a Mystery Novel

Join us for our February meeting on Monday the 8th from 6-8 p.m. at the Greenbrier Library in Chesapeake for a presentation entitled: “For Gawd’s Sake, Put Some Clothes On!”

February’s topic is a riff on the wildly popular “Bones of a Mystery” workshop that examined the structure of a mystery novel. That workshop was presented at the 2014 and 2015 Suffolk Mystery Authors Festivals by Sisters in Crime members and we will “put some clothes on those bones” at our next meeting by offering advice and dispensing tools to help you write a full-length mystery.

Attend the meeting and learn how to dress Jayne (and your mystery novel!) in layers of intrigue and suspense.

While particular emphasis will be placed on the cozy mystery genre, the techniques presented can be used when writing any genre of mystery. It is not a prerequisite to have attended the “Bones of a Mystery” workshop in order to benefit from this one. The presentation will be led by Jayne Ormerod, multi-published mystery writer and veteran speaker. To learn more about Jayne and her books, visit her online at http://www.JayneOrmerod.com.
